Loose ends & letters
Loose ends looks for things that went quiet: a question nobody answered, a promise that lapsed, a reply you owe. It shows the quote each case is based on and drafts the next step. It never sends anything.
Sources
- Your bot chats, tasks and questions are always read: kwant's own threads, open questions and failed handoffs.
- Email (IMAP), optional: a mail server with TLS or STARTTLS.
- GitHub, optional: your issues and pull requests. A GitHub Enterprise address works too.
Add a source with Add a source. kwant tests the connection first, and the login goes into the password vault. Sources are read-only: email is opened without marking, moving or deleting anything, and GitHub is only read.
Cases
A case opens when something has been quiet for 14 days, or 3 days in a kwant chat. kwant looks for:
- someone waiting for your reply, or you waiting for theirs
- a promise someone made you that lapsed, or one you made
- a stale issue, a failed task, or an unanswered question
Each case shows the quote it's based on and a draft: an email you open in your mail app or copy, a link to the GitHub issue, or the kwant chat. Then mark it done, say you followed up, snooze it for 3 days, a week or a month, or dismiss it, just this one or everything from that sender. Cases sit in the Open, Waiting, Snoozed and Done tabs. Scan now checks right away.
Message text is never written to logs, and cases are kept for 90 days.
Letters
Use Add a letter to photograph or upload a bill, form or notice: up to 5 pages of PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF, 20 MB each.
kwant reads who it's from, what they want, the deadline, where to reply, references, amounts and a checklist. Every field shows the line it came from and you can edit it. Fields kwant isn't sure of are marked for you to check.
- Once the deadline is confirmed, kwant reminds you 7 days before, the day before and on the day, at 09:00. Notifications carry only counts, not the letter.
- Reading photos needs a Claude account. A PDF with a text layer is read without a model.
- The reply is a draft to copy or open in your mail app. Nothing is sent for you.
- Deleting a letter removes its pages and everything read from them.
